Nick Pipitone with Propmodo includes insight from Edward Fernandez, founder and CEO of 1031 Crowdfunding, in his article on the politics surrounding the attempts to eliminate 1031 exchanges. Pipitone includes the petition efforts made by 1031 Crowdfunding to stop the capping of like-kind exchanges, which gathered over 700 signatures. “When you’re talking about like-kind exchanges, you’re not just talking about taking away a tax deferral treatment. You’re also talking about drastically changing the economy,” explains Fernandez.
